Real estate agent giving family key

Becoming a REALTOR®

Becoming a REALTOR® can be a rewarding career choice for several reasons. First and foremost, it offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and ever-evolving industry. Real estate is an integral part of people’s lives, and as a REALTOR®, you can play a pivotal role in helping individuals and families find their dream homes or make sound investment decisions.

One of the most appealing aspects of a career in real estate is its potential for financial success. Agents earn commissions based on property sales, which means your income is directly tied to your efforts and the value you provide to clients. With dedication and skill, you can build a lucrative income and enjoy the freedom of being your own boss.

Being a REALTOR® allows for flexibility in work hours and location. You have the autonomy to set your schedule and decide how to manage your time, which can be particularly appealing for those seeking work-life balance or looking to transition from a traditional 9 – 5 job.

Another advantage of working in real estate is the opportunity to continually learn and grow. The real estate market is constantly evolving, and as a REALTOR®, you’ll have access to ongoing training and educational resources to stay up to date with industry trends and regulations. This continuous learning can enhance your expertise and credibility.

Real estate is a people-centric profession. Building strong relationships with clients, networking with other professionals in the industry, and providing excellent customer service are essential components of success. If you enjoy working with people and have strong interpersonal skills, real estate can be a fulfilling career choice.

One of the parts of real estate that intrigued me the most was the ability to build my business the way I wanted. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and found that I work best when I’m able to build my business myself. This is true, so much so that I even started my own brokerage to give other agents the opportunity to build their business the way they wanted to.

At Pinnacle Realty agents are encouraged to be their own brand, build their own business, and make it what they want. We make sure everyone has the tools to succeed, but we understand that success looks different for everyone and celebrate with all our agents whether they’re selling their first house or their 30th

Being a REALTOR® also shouldn’t break your bank or leave you wondering where all the commissions went. Pinnacle Realty is a fee-free brokerage, meaning that the agents get more of the commissions earned. You won’t look at your statement and have to ask what the various charges are for, because there won’t be any.

People who make the best agents are outgoing and personable. They generally are excellent communicators, are able to listen and understand their clients’ needs while being able to explain complex real estate concepts clearly. It does require someone who is self-motivated, persistent, and someone who has a strong work ethic. And while you might think it requires someone who is tech-savvy, I assure you the technical knowledge is basic. The most important characteristics of people who make great agents are honesty, integrity, and a commitment to ethical practices.

If you’re looking for a career change, something outside of a typical 9 – 5 job, or like me, you have that entrepreneurial drive to build something yourself, let’s talk about your options in real estate! And if you’re an agent out there, working for a brokerage and wondering if there’s somewhere you’d better succeed, we can talk about your options too. Either way, give me a call and let’s grab a coffee.
